On November 1st, 2025, at Birth Choice in Jackson, Madison County Mayor AJ Massey and City of Jackson Mayor Scott Conger issued a joint proclamation acknowledging November as National Adoption Month. We were honored that they were part of our open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony that day, a milestone for the Birth Choice ministry. Below is the proclamation as it was written:
Proclamation
WHEREAS, Children are among our most precious citizens, deserving of safety, stability and love; and adoption provides a unique opportunity to give children the gift of family, offering them the support and nurturing environment they need to thrive; and
WHEREAS, Expectant and birth parents who courageously make adoption plans demonstrate selfless love, and foster and adoptive families who open their hearts and homes embody compassion and commitment; and
WHEREAS, Adoption is the ultimate statement of life, reflecting our community’s commitment to care for those who would otherwise have no one, ensuring every child has a chance to experience love, belonging, hope, and healing; and
WHEREAS, National Adoption Month is a time to recognize the countless individuals, families, agencies, faith communities, and organizations in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee, and across our nation, who work tirelessly to ensure that every child can experience the security of a permanent, loving home; and
WHEREAS, The City of Jackson, Tennessee, and Madison County, Tennessee, stand in support of children, foster children and adoptees, expectant and birth parents, foster and adoptive families, and honor the transformative power of adoption in bringing hope, healing, and new beginnings; and
WHEREAS, Adoption reflects the belief that every child’s life holds immeasurable value, worth and each are made in the image of God, and strong families build strong communities and churches, faith communities, and local organizations play a vital role in supporting children, birth parents, foster families, and adoptive families, walking alongside them with encouragement, resources, and guidance.
NOW, THEREFORE, WE, A. J. MASSEY, MAYOR OF MADISON COUNTY, TENNESSEE, AND SCOTT CONGER, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF JACKSON, TENNESSEE, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2025, AS National Adoption Month
Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee, and urge all citizens, churches, and community organizations to join in celebrating adoption as a life-giving choice and to support efforts that strengthen families and allow every child to flourish in a loving home.
